Neighbourhood Policing Team - Courtfield Ward |
||
|
Dear residents of Courtfield Ward, good evening to you. It has been a busy week for the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and policing resources across London have been stretched due to several incidents, some have received media attention. We did receive some good news this week. The team got our first conviction at court under legislation which states it is an offence for a person Knowingly as a Trespasser live or intend to live in residential premises. This was in response to issues of cuckooing and persons residing in the communal areas of residential buildings. Although this doesn’t solve the problem it is part of our long-term strategy to tackle the issue. Utilizing ASB legislation alongside it. We are awaiting new legislation that has received Royal assent but is not enforceable yet under the Crime & Policing Act 2026 where CUCKOOING specifically is a criminal offence. We have also received feedback from residents at a few community events we’ve done over the past fortnight highlighting the issue with cyclists in the Courtfield Ward. Due to other policing issues, it has not been prioritized. However, we have made a request to a Pan London Team called the Road Danger Reduction Unit requesting further policing resources to assist. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will not be available this weekend and any specific policing matter please use the 999 system if there is an immediate threat to person or property. For anything else please contact us using MET ENAGAGE and we will respond on Monday. Next week on Wednesday the 12th of August the Courtfield NPT will be outside Waitrose on Gloucester Rd within the arcade between 10.30am – 12.30pm doing a crime prevention stand. Please feel free to come & see us. We wish you all a very pleasant weekend. Kind Regards Neighbourhood Policing Team – Courtfield | ||
